As you all know, there hasn't been soccer for 2 weeks in a row due to poor response and/or injury of some of our bros.
1. Pls take good care of your physical well-being.
At the very minimum, train your legs and strengthen the joints to keep up with the high demands of daily walking and/or weekly soccer. Build up those muscles for endurance and power by defeating the stairs of your HDB block like this (or use somebody else's block if you stay in private estates..).
2. Eat well. Especially breakfast.
Dun miss out on the most important meal of the day that will perk you up and get you set for all the activities in your busy day. Pack in some protein, fibre and keep the sugar level moderate. High sugar might trick your body's sugar levels and leave you listless the entire morning. Check out some yummy breakfast DIY meals here.
3. Contribute proactively to our weekly soccer games. I propose that our target shall be to play at the cage/safra every alternate month. i.e. March, May, July.. By contributing your ideas to the comment sections of relevant posts will help smooth the organising process and save your SMSes.. So check in regularly to this page for updates. I will do my best to make necessary changes.
Soccer cancelled due to poor turnout.

To Bros,
ReplyDeleteCan we have the cage/safra once a month at least? Dont need to have it alternate month coz its gonna be a long wait. And since most of us are working (in one way or another), contributing $10-$15 per mth would suffice.
Imagine sacrificing two set meals of KFC 2piece meal and you can pay for safra soccer!!!
While it's a nice idea to look at, It's still not practical because we still have problems getting enough people down for soccer. Effectively we only have about 6 people who usually make it for soccer on sundays. So if we were to book a pitch @ the cage, we'll be shortchanged, say about $15-$19 per player. Furthermore, we will not have enough players for substitution or leagues. Not all of us can play soccer for 2 straight hours.
ReplyDeleteI think we should build this up slowly. Unless we see better soccer participation, alternating month cage-games should suffice for now. What do you guys think?
Wow, well done Mr Bear..I see the development and revival of this blog! Then again, the responses seem to be from limited people.Sob.
ReplyDeleteBack to Soccer, I admit my attendance too has been rather irregular, needless to say some others also, so we do have to develop in this slowly. It is very rare to be able to get high attendance for a cage match these days due to personal responsibilities so we should just TRY it out. If it works, good. If not, keep trying. And complements for the organizer coz it's not easy being one.
I'd say once in 2 months is good for a trial period.
